Police Report

The following is a summary of incidents in Bethesda to which Montgomery County police responded recently. The words ‘‘arrested” and ‘‘charged” do not imply guilt.

Armed robbery

*On March 13: At approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 10400 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. The victim was getting into her vehicle when the suspect approached on foot with a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took property and fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white male, 30-40, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 165 pounds, baseball cap, handgun.

*On March 13: At approximately 8:30 p.m. in the parking lot of Red Door Spa in the 10200 block of Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda. A suspect approached from the fence line and displayed a handgun. The suspect obtained her property and then fled on foot. The suspect was described as a white male, 20-30, 5 feet 9 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall, baseball cap, handgun.

Graffiti

*Reported on the morning of March 16, in residential neighborhood along Maiden Lane, Durbin Road, Kirby Road and Oldchester Road in Bethesda. Various profanities, drawings and symbols were painted on sides of vehicles, garage doors and fences.

Vandalism

*Overnight between March 14 and March 15, on Thornapple Street, Brennon Lane and Leland Street in Chevy Chase. Several vehicles were found with tires slashed.

Vehicle larceny

*Two vehicles parked in a commercial lot at 7101 Wisconsin Ave. in Bethesda and the county lot at 4935 St. Elmo Ave. in Bethesda, during the day on March 11. Forced entry to two vehicles; property taken.

*Colfax Street and Ewell Avenue in Kensington, overnight between March 16 and March 17. Three vehicles were entered and items were removed. Two of the vehicles had been left unlocked; the third was entered by force.

*Augusta Street, Carlton Lane and Albia Road, between Glen Echo and Somerset, overnight between March 11 and March 12. Vehicles parked along streets and in driveways were entered and items were removed. Several of the incidents involved multiple vehicles. All but two of the vehicles affected had been left unlocked.

*Tuckerman Lane and Strathmore Hall Street in North Bethesda, between March 11 and March 12. Forced entry gained into vehicles parked in residential lots⁄garages; property taken.

Commercial burglary

*James M Johnson Trust LTD, 2 Wisconsin Circle in Chevy Chase, between March 15 and March 17. Unknown entry gained into two separate office suites; property taken.

*NOVA Research Company, 4600 East West Highway in Bethesda, overnight between March 11 and March 12. Forced entry; no property taken.

*Earth Share and Sunbelt, 7735 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda, overnight between March 13 and March 14. Forced entry; property taken.

*Marriott Hotel, 5701 Marinelli Road in North Bethesda between March 15 and March 16. No forced entry; property taken.

Residential burglary

*1900 block of East West Highway in Bethesda between 6 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. on March 12. Forced entry; property taken.

*11400 block of Hollowstone Drive in Bethesda at approximately 1 a.m. on March 17. The victim heard a noise and saw the suspect inside his townhouse. The suspect fled. The suspect was described as a black male, 20-30, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 175-210 pounds.
