Bethesda doctor to join health commission

Dr. Duane J. Taylor was appointed to the Montgomery County Commission on Health. The county executive appointment, confirmed by the County Council, advises on county, state and metropolitan area health issues and reports on the county’s Department of Health and Human Services’ performance.

Taylor has a more than 17 years of professional and community presence in the county and metropolitan area as a physician, volunteer and resident.

Taylor is treasurer for Montgomery County Medical Society; a member of Med Chi — Maryland state medical society; a board member at Lutheran Church at St. Andrew; a member of the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Chamber of Commerce; a volunteer with the Washington Association to Tend to The Concerns of Haitians (WATTCH) and has raised funds for The Children’s Inn at NIH.

Taylor is board certified in Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery and fellowship trained in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. He is the Medical Director of Le Visage ENT & Facial Plastic Surgery, LLC, in Bethesda.

Bethesda realtor namedtop RE⁄MAX agent

Jeremy Lichtenstein of RE⁄MAX Realty Services of Bethesda was named the number one RE⁄MAX agent in the state of Maryland for 2007 at the annual RE⁄MAX International regional awards banquet held in Baltimore. He was also named the top RE⁄MAX agent in the Central Atlantic region, consisting of more than 6,000 agents.

Snikiddy Snacks secures investment

Snikiddy LLC., organic snack food company founded in Bethesda, recently announced the completion of an investment by an entity of the D.E. Shaw group, a global investment management firm, under arrangements involving a commitment of up to $15 million of equity capital.

The investment will allow the company to accelerate its national expansion and establish itself as a market leader in organic and healthy children’s snacks.

Snikiddy Snacks was founded in 2006 by Bethesda mother⁄daughter team Janet Owings and Mary Schulman.
