Montgomery police investigating fatal pedestrian collision

Montgomery County Police are reporting that westbound lanes on Bel Pre Road at Connecticut Avenue in Aspen Hill will be closed for several hours Tuesday morning as police continue to investigate a fatal pedestrian collision.

Cpl. Jimmy Robinson, a spokesman for Montgomery County Police, said the incident happened around 6:39 a.m.

Motorists traveling west on Bel Pre Road are being reroutes onto Connecticut Avenue to access Georgia Avenue. Traffic has been backed up for miles as a result.

Further information about the accident has not yet been released.
