Police officer charged with soliciting prostitute

An off-duty Prince George’s police officer was charged with soliciting a prostitute after he was arrested March 30 in the District.

Officer Tyrone Wills, who has been employed with the police department for 18 months and is assigned to Patrol Services, was arrested in the 1600 block of New York Avenue in northeast Washington.

Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a spokesman for the county police department, said Wills got caught during an undercover prostitution investigation in the District.

Wills, who was given a citation and released, has been suspended with pay pending a hearing. The Office of Professional Responsibility is conducting the investigation.
