Habitat names new executive director Thursday, March 30, 2006 David Ozag of Frederick has been named executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Frederick County. He will begin the new position Tuesday.
Habitat Board President Ron Cramer announced the appointment in a press release.
Ozag has been president and chief executive officer of an accounting consulting organization, as well as system administrator for a national mortgage servicing company, according to the press release.
He has also served on various boards and was an assistant basketball coach at Gov. Thomas Johnson High School.
Cramer said Ozag offers more than 20 years of experience in the skills associated with managing a nonprofit organization, such as accounting, financial and project management, human resources, fund-raising and volunteering.
Fund supports historic sites
The Tourism Council of Frederick County has started a fund to support activities aimed at promoting, developing and supporting the county’s museums and historic sites and increasing public awareness of their value.
The Frederick Historic Sites Consortium Pass Through Fund, administered by the Community Foundation of Frederick County, supports the county’s many small historic houses, in-depth museum exhibits and parks that contribute to the telling of the county’s history, according to a Community Foundation press release.
Established by the Tourism Council in 1991, the consortium comprises nearly 30 museums, historic sites and other organizations.
