Open forum: Keep affordable park homes

I hope that the Planning Board would reconsider its decision to demolish affordable housing in Little Bennett Park in Clarksburg (‘‘Affordable park homes could be demolished,” March 21 article). The houses are one of the few affordable places to live in the county.

Isn’t the county interested in encouraging people to live closer to work instead of commuting long distances and adding to traffic congestion and air pollution?

The houses in the park along Route 355 are located on a Ride On bus route, and a bike trail will soon be built along 355 that will be part of the Clarksburg greenway system.

If the parks department can’t handle managing the houses, how about asking the county housing office to manage it or contract it out to a rental company?
