Coach of the Year
Bruce Kelley, Bullis, 4th year
With focus on fundamentals and team play, won competitive Interstate Athletic Conference championship for second time in four-year tenure despite lack of star power.
Player of the Year
C.J. Garner, Springbrook, Sr., G
Just 5-foot-10 but all heart, averaged 21.1 ppg for second-straight year. Unquestioned vocal leader of state-champion Blue Devils, leading 11-point, fourth-quarter comeback in final.
First team
Dennis Bassich, Einstein, Sr., G
More complete player in 2007-08, racked up county-high 26.4 ppg, 4 rpg, 3 spg in leading Titans to first 10-win season since 2000-01.
Jordan Clarke, Good Counsel, Sr., F
Earned three tournament MVP awards, led Falcons to 21 wins with 18.6 ppg,10.9 rpg. Signed to play at University of Vermont.
Austin Cooley, B-CC, Sr., G
Averaging 18.3 ppg, led team to third state tournament in four-year career, posting team-highs in four categories in state semi.
Stefan Fields, Magruder, Sr., F
Transfer was exactly what Colonels needed, helping them to regional final with team-highs in points (17.0 pg), rebounds (9.0 pg).
Jamal Olasewere, Springbrook, Jr., F
Came out of nowhere to average over 15 ppg, 10 rpg, scoring game-winning bucket in state final victory over Thomas Stone.
Markel Starks, Georgetown Prep, Soph., G
Classy, ultra-talented underclassman produced big-time for Little Hoyas: 15.8 ppg, 9 apg, 4 rpg, 3 spg.

Versatile, already highly recruited, averaged 26.4 ppg,10 rpg in helping turn around fortunes of former IAC bottom feeders.
Terrell Vinson, Montrose Christian, Jr., F
Kept Mustangs at high level despite team injuries, averaging 18 ppg, 10 rpg, with ability to score from anywhere on court.
Garvey Young, Georgetown Prep, Sr., G⁄F
Brilliant Vermont-bound, 6-4 swingman led IAC tourney champs with 19.9 ppg, 9.5 rpg, 2.5 apg, finishing career with 1,867 points.
