Friends Meeting School presents Shakespeare

‘‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream” will be performed by students at the Friends Meeting School students, 2:30 p.m., April 20, and 9:30 a.m., April 22, at The Weinberg Center.

It is encouraged that those coming dress as their favorite character, and there is a question and answer period with the cast after the play. Audience members have the chance to learn backstage secrets and are invited for on stage drama exercises for the first half hour. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students.

Urbana makes donation to Rock Creek School

Rock Creek School recently accepted a donation of more than $2,600 from the Urbana High School Dance and Drama departments.

Funds were raised by Urbana students through their annual ‘‘Mr. Urbana” Contest which was held in December.

The check was awarded recently to Rock Creek School after Urbana High School Dance and Drama students performed for the Rock Creek School students.

Catoctin band preps for fundraising event

A community celebration and yard sale will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., March 29 to raise funds for the Catoctin High School band program. The event, which is open to the community, will be held at the Wal-Mart on Md. Route 26 near Monocacy Boulevard.

Vender spaces for the yard sale are available for $15. The proceeds from the space sale will be given to the Catoctin band. The event will include food, face painting and clowns.
