Maryland Attorney General Joseph Curran announced Monday the Dr. Wash in Chillum has been charged with water pollution.

The owners of the car wash, at 5902 Riggs Road, are blamed for discharging car wash waste water into the storm drain at the intersection of Chillum and Riggs roads Sept. 17-18, 2005.

The Maryland business could receive a maximum fine of $25,000 if convicted. The preliminary hearing date has been set for April 19 in the District Court of Maryland.
