Frederick County 2005-2006 All-Gazette: WrestlingWednesday, March 15, 2006
Tim Wheatley (So., Walkersville, 215) Wheatley was the dramatic story of this year’s state tournament, fighting through injury to win Frederick County’s only title. Wheatley was 36-1 this year, a season after a neck injury threw into doubt his career. Coach of the Year Scott McIntosh (Walkersville, 5th year) McIntosh guided the Lions to a sixth consecutive Frederick County title, a Class 2A West Region crown and a third-place finish at the Class 1A-2A state meet—tying the Lions’ best-ever finish.
