The Arora Hills community in Clarksburg is progressing to its next development phase with the latest model homes by various builders now open to the public.

On March 15, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., the community will join in grand-opening festivities at the newest model homes. In addition, the new Community Clubhouse will be open for tours.

Among the new models include The Huntley and The Garner, by Beazer Homes. These are located at 23108 Yellowwood Drive and 23106 Yellowwood Drive, respectively, and the prices start from $619,990 for The Garner and $659,990 for The Huntley.

The Garner features more than 2,900 finished square feet with 4 bedrooms and 3 1⁄2 baths, and a two-car garage in the rear.

The Huntley has more than 3,500 finished square feet on three levels, and also features 4 bedrooms, 3 1⁄2 bathrooms and a two-car garage in the rear plus a library⁄office.

Standard features in these floor plans include 9-foot ceilings on the main level, hardwood flooring in the two-story foyer, a gas fireplace in the family room, designer kitchens with a breakfast area, elegant baths, and energy-saving features.

Also available to prospective buyers is Ryan Homes’ new Carroll II model, a Neo-Traditional single-family home featuring about 3,000 square feet including a finished lower level.

The Carroll II — at 23110 Yellowwood Drive — has a dramatic sunken foyer complete with a built-in bench seat and oval window. The asymmetrical floor plan features a waterfall-style staircase leading to the second floor and dramatic columns framing the living room. Nine-foot ceilings are included on the first and second levels. The gourmet kitchen features granite countertops, 42-inch cherry cabinets, and stainless-steel appliances. Upstairs are four bedrooms, two full baths and a convenient laundry room. The owners’ suite in the model showcases an optional step-up sitting room with a tray ceiling, and an upgraded marble package in the luxury bath.

The Carroll II homes start at $524,990 with two home sites still available as of presstime.

Model homes also are available along Skylark Road and Sycamore Farm Drive.

Among these, The Cheswick at 11863 Skylark Road, is a spacious three-bedroom townhome that features a country kitchen with an island, a formal living and dining room, a finished lower level with a den and half-bath, a deck off the kitchen, and a two-car garage. The home includes 9-foot ceilings on the main level with crown and chair-rail moldings in the living and dining rooms.

The owners’ suite includes a luxurious bath with soaking tub and separate shower. The other two bedrooms include vaulted ceilings.

Granite countertops, hardwood flooring, a wiring package for the tech-savvy, and a brick front are among the options. The Cheswick is currently offered at $394,990.

Another builder in Arora Hills is K. Hovnanian Homes, which offers estate homes priced from the upper $600s and townhomes from the mid $400s.

Adjacent to Ovid Hazen Wells Park, Arora Hills offers residents an array of amenities right at their doorstep, including two neighborhood swimming pools, a clubhouse, sports fields, nature trails and tot lots.

The developers have preserved more than 200 acres of open space. Three streams run through the community, and an onsite middle school is planned by the county.
