Silver Spring sewer overflows

E-mail this article \ Print this article

A broken main caused a sewer overflow in the 1300 block of Fenwick Lane Sunday afternoon. Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission workers stopped the overflow by Monday morning. About 17,800 gallons of diluted wastewater spilled into a storm drain that empties into Rock Creek.

Signs were posted notifying people in the area about the spill.

Residents may call 301-206-4002 at any time to report water or sewer emergencies in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties.
