Olson would be good for county

Thursday, Feb. 16, 2006

It’s great news for the whole county that Eric Olson, a College Park city councilman, may run for election to the Prince George’s County Council.

Olson works tirelessly for his constituents, always looking for ways in which government can meet the needs of diverse groups and solve the particular problems of individuals. Along with his energy and accessibility, Eric has shown vision in thinking of innovative solutions to long-standing problems, and he has been effective in working with colleagues and citizens to put his good ideas into action.

The most difficult and urgent problems facing the county - ensuring high quality in public schools, suppressing crime and combining economic development with vital neighborhoods - are issues that Eric has already been working on for years, creatively and successfully.

Eric Olson has the forward thinking, the idealism and pragmatism, the experience and effectiveness and responsiveness that will help him accomplish great things for Prince George’s County. Our County Council needs him.
