Sportsplex girls win invitational crown

Sportsplex Girls Gymnastics team took first place at the John Pancott Invitational this weekend at Exton, Pa.
Ashley Belle, Lena Morant, Simone Murphy and Morganne Oliver led the Level 6 team. Oliver took first in the floor, vault, bars and all-around in the 7-9 age group. Also in the 7-9 age group, Morant placed third on vault and uneven bars. Murphy took first on uneven bars, second on the beam, third on the floor and won the all-around in the 11-12 age group.
Khyla Anderson, Chelsea Knight and Naomi Parham competed for the Level 8 and 9 team. Parham placed first on beam, first on uneven bars, second on vault and first on the all-around in the 10-12 age group. Knight placed third on the vault in the 9-14 age group, while Anderson took second in the vault and second in the all-around in the 14 and above age group.
Lacrosse registration
The Prince George's Lacrosse Club will holding registration for the upcoming season. The league offers instructional level play for boys ages 6-14. Practices are twice a week in late February and play begins in late March, April and May. The league rents equipment and will offer introductory clinics at 2 p.m. on Sunday at University Park and at 2 p.m. on Feb. 21 at Eleanor Roosevelt High School (weather permitting). Football registration
The Glenarden Ardmore Boys and Girls Club unlimited youth football is currently recruiting players ages 10-14 to play in organized tackle football without weight restrictions. Contact 301-322-1866.

The MD Spartans-Books B4 Ball youth tackle football, cheerleading and tutorial program is looking for coaches, players and cheerleaders for their American Youth Football Club. Basketball event scheduled
Maryland Invitational Basketball Tournament will be held Feb. 13-15 at the Capital Sports Complex. The tournament is for boys ages 8-14. Visit www.mithoops.org.
