Tickets are still available for 5:30, 6, 6:30, or 7 p.m. seatings for Tuesday’s Downtown Frederick Progressive Dinner.

The Downtown Frederick Progressive Dinner gives diners the opportunity to taste fabulous cuisine at four downtown restaurants in one evening while making new friends in their group of twenty-six diners.

Each group begins their meal with a happy hour and appetizer course. The group then will walk to another Downtown Frederick restaurant for their salad course, and so on, finally ending with dessert. Each course offers a glass of wine or beer to complement the fare while dessert includes coffee.

Each restaurant offers a worldly dining experience on their regular menu. The appetizer course will begin the evening Vegetable Samosas and Mailai Kabob Chicken along with a glass or two of the house red or white wines at the Bombay Grill, Downtown Frederick’s only Indian cuisine restaurant.

The next stop for diners will be Isabella’s Taverna & Spanish Tapas Bar to enjoy an Ensalada Verde con Queso Manchego - hearts of Romaine tossed in roasted garlic dressing with ciabatta croutons and manchego cheese. The salad course will include a choice of Vinos Sinley 2005, Vino de Madrid red wine or a white Lasbrisas 2006 North Central Spain wine.

La Paz Mexican Restaurant will offer two choices of entrée selections for the evening. Progressive diners can choose from Carne Asada – thinly sliced steak grilled and served with rice, pinto beans, and pico de gallo, or Monterey Chicken – breaded chicken breast stuffed with jack cheese and mild green chiles, baked and topped with hot sauce and sour cream, served with rice and black beans. For added zest, diners will have the option to sip on the La Paz signature margarita or sample one of their Mexican beers.

The evening will finish with dessert at Venuti’s Italian Restaurant, which will serve their popular Chocolate Pumpkin Cheesecake with a cup of coffee.

Each Progressive Dinner participant will receive a small gift as a thank you for joining the evening. Last year’s gift included over $100 in offerings from Downtown Frederick merchants including gifts from boutiques, chocolates, and salon gift cards.

Tickets are $100 per person including tax and gratuity. Approximately $40 of each ticket is tax deductible.

This innovative way to dine was designed to celebrate the culinary offerings found in Downtown Frederick while raising funds for the nonprofit Downtown Frederick Partnership, charged with enhancing, promoting, and preserving the vitality of Downtown Frederick.

Seating will be done European style to encourage the lively social atmosphere a Progressive Dinner creates.
