Lester, Loy tie the knot in October

Marie Jeannette Lester and Christopher Brian Loy were united in marriage Oct. 27, 2007, at Coffman Chapel, Hood College. The officiating minister was The Rev. W. H. Lester, the grandfather of the bride.

She was presented in marriage by her parents, Noel and RoseAnn Lester.

Maid of honor was Julia Rauch. Rachel Gauza was a bridesmaid, Brittany Loy, sister of the groom, was a junior bridesmaid, and Kaitlin Loy, sister of the groom, was flower girl.

Best man was Scott Tooley. Groomsmen were David Lester, brother of the bride, Will Markow, cousin of the bride, and David Conway.

Music was provided by Jose Cueto, violin, Nancy Roldan, piano, Suzanne Orban, cello, David Lester, double bass, and Deidra Palmour Gorton, mezzo soprano. The reception was held at Dutch's Daughter, Frederick, with music by the Kevin Lewis Jazz Quartet.

The bride is a graduate of Hood College with a degree in vocal performance and is pursuing a master's degree in thanatology at Hood. A concert and operatic soprano, she is employed as a teacher of voice in the preparatory division of the music department at Hood and she teaches private voice and piano.

The groom is a former longtime employee of the Orchard Restaurant in Frederick and is currently a pest control technician with Ehrlich Pest Control.

After a honeymoon cruise to the Caribbean, the couple make their home in Frederick.
