Profits soar atIntegral Systems

Integral Systems Inc., which provides satellite systems to the military and other customers, saw a 233 percent spike in profits for the quarter ended Dec. 31.

The Lanham company reported $7 million in net income for the quarter, versus $2.1 million in the prior-year quarter, and a 36 percent increase in revenues to $37.3 million. Revenues, operating income and profits increased in all of Integral’s segments.

Chamber workshoplooks at SBA program

The Maryland Chamber of Commerce will host a workshop on how to succeed with the Small Business Administration 8(a) program at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Greenbelt Marriott Hotel, 6400 Ivy Lane.

Henry Gilford, the SBA’s 2003 Small Business Person of the Year for the Washington, D.C., region and CEO of the Gilford Corp., will speak.

Merkle renews contractwith heart association

Merkle Inc., a database marketing agency in Lanham, has won a three-year, multimillion-dollar contract with the American Heart Association in Dallas.

Merkle will continue to provide analysis and other services for the association, and for the first time also oversee all aspects of the nonprofit’s fundraising database.
