An episode of ‘‘The Montel Williams Show” featuring a Bowie woman who met the family of her heart donor is scheduled to air Tuesday.

Lorma Sealey of Bowie traveled to New York to tape the show in October and met the family of Matthew Zaragoza-VanGelderen, a 16-year-old California boy who died of a brain injury while playing high school football in 2005.

Sealey was born in the U.S. Virgin Islands with a congenital heart defect. She had several heart surgeries and moved to Maryland when she was 18.

After doctors determined Sealey would need a heart transplant, she received a 3 a.m. phone call in September 2005 that a heart had become available for her and went into surgery.

Although she still must undergo hours of rehabilitation each week, Sealey is involved with Reid Temple AME Church. She also does speaking engagements in the community to encourage awareness of organ donation.

‘‘The Montel Williams Show” airs weekdays on CBS.
