Virginia Evelyn Flickinger, 60, died Jan. 20, 2010 after a courageous fight against lung cancer. She was the wife and best friend of Larry D. Flickinger for the last 16 years.

Evelyn was a member of the Catoctin Church of Christ and supported community efforts such as the Mount Airy Downtown Revitalization, Taneytown Police Department, Multiple Sclerosis and the Harney Volunteer Fire Department. She owned and operated her own commercial cleaning business for 30 years and engaged in many entrepreneurial endeavors.
The things she loved most in life were her husband, her family, her horse farm, her morning coffee, and her trips to Costa Rica. She enjoyed riding her horse, Treasure, and taking care of her four cats, two goats and her dog named after her father, Charlie. She always put others before herself, going above and beyond to give whatever was needed. She gave her heart to her family and friends.
