Thomas E. Pickrel, 64, of Montgomery Village died of liver cancer on Dec. 3, 2009.
Born Nov. 12, 1945, in Arlington, Va., he was a son of the late Nimrod E. and Mildred Jackson Pickrel.
He was the husband of Patsy Rhodes Pickrel for 40 years.
Mr. Pickrel held a master's degree in business administration and was a member of the International Society of Poets.
Survivors in addition to his wife include three children, Tracey Pickrel of Montgomery Village and Travis Pickrel and Stacey Pickrel, both of Germantown; one brother, Jerry Pickrel of Olney; and one sister, Susan P. Roberts of League City, Texas.
A memorial celebration was held Dec. 5, 2009, at Hines-Rinaldi Funeral Home in Silver Spring.
