Linganore High alumni offer scholarship award

Scholarships are available to any Linganore High School graduate. Last year, two scholarships of $750 each were awarded to Catherine Dodson and Grant Piccerillo. In the last 10 years the alumni association has awarded 14 scholarships for a total of $8,150. The scholarship fund is invested with the Community Foundation of Frederick County.

The Universal Comprehensive Scholarship Application is available on the Community Foundation Web site, www.cffred.co.org).

Deadline for applications is 5 p.m., March 1.

Members of the Linganore High Alumni Association scholarship committee will participate, along with directors of the Community Foundation, in the selection of the LHS Alumni Scholarship awards. St. John’s holdsRoy Rogers fundraiser

St. John’s Regional Catholic School in conjunction with Roy Rogers will host a ‘‘Family Night” at the 1204 E. Patrick St., Frederick Roy Rogers Restaurant from 5-8 p.m., today.

Roy Rogers will donate 25 percent of the proceeds generated to the school. The donation is based on the number of guests that come into the restaurant to support St. John’s Regional Catholic School the night of the fundraiser.

‘‘We are looking forward to partnering with St. John’s Regional Catholic School and we are expecting a great turnout,” said Tony Wisner, general manager of the Eastgate Roy Rogers Restaurant, in a press release.
