Two men were arrested after a fight on Knowledge Lane on Jan. 24 in which one man fired shots into the air before hitting the other man with the gun, according to a Bowie police report.

Jeffrey Wolf, 21, was arrested for first-degree assault after he fired a shotgun twice into the air and hit Brian Griffen, 21, with the butt end of the shotgun just before 1 a.m. Both men reside on Knowledge Lane.

Griffen had no signs of injury and declined medical treatment, the report said.

Griffen also was arrested for disorderly conduct because he had to be physically restrained by police and did not follow police orders.

Wolf admitted that he fired the gun into the air and struck Griffen.

The shotgun was placed into evidence.
