A Temple Hills man was sentenced Friday to 50 years in prison by a Prince George’s County jury for killing another man for less than $100, according to a news release from the state’s attorney’s office.

Lamont Delonte Stevenson, 32, was convicted of one count of second-degree murder in the July 2, 2006 death of Corey O’Neal Holland, 34, of Temple Hills. Stevenson also was convicted of use of a handgun in the commission of a felony.

According to the release, Stevenson shot Holland several times as the two drove down Pennsylvania Avenue. He accidentally shot himself in the process and went to Washington Hospital Center for treatment, giving a false name and declining to give the exact cause of his injury. Holland had loaned Stevenson $100, the release said.

A DNA test revealed he was in the victim’s car and witnesses indicated only one person got out of the car, the release said.
