Baldi appointed as new Habitat board member

The Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors has appointed Joe Baldi of Frederick to the board. As a member of the Board of Directors of the ReUse Center, Baldi played an active role in its transition into Frederick’s first Habitat ReStore.

Baldi and his wife Francina have lived in Frederick for 30 years and have four sons.

Habitat opens ReStore

Habitat for Humanity of Frederick officially opened its ReStore on Jan. 19. Federal, state, county and local elected officials, past and present Habitat Board members, volunteers and the public attended a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the East Patrick Street site near the Fairgrounds.

ReStore represents an increased emphasis on environmental responsibility in the Frederick community, according to a press release.

ReStore will sell to the public at a fraction of retail prices overstocked, discontinued or used but still usable building materials, furniture, and miscellaneous household items.

ReStore occupies the premises of the former ReUse Center at 1109 E. Patrick St., Frederick, near the Fairgrounds.
