Here are some of the DVDs scheduled to be released Tuesday:

The Brave One: Jodie Foster plays a radio talk show host who struggles to get over the brutal attack against her fiancé. Finally, she decides the only way for her to get over it is to get even and she becomes a vigilante. Terrence Howard plays the detective who is trying to discover who is behind the vigilante attacks.

Rated R; 122 minutes; Directed by Neil Jordan

Across the Universe: Any Beatles fans will enjoy this film if for no other reason than the music. A British boy comes to America and falls in love with an American girl during the chaotic 1960s. In addition to the music of the Beatles, the film has its own visual style.

Elizabeth: The Golden Age: Cate Blanchett just earned an Oscar nomination for this sequel to ‘‘Elizabeth.” This time the queen is a bit older and is threatened by Mary Queen of Scots while being courted by Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen).

The Assassination of Jesse James ...: Casey Affleck picked up an Oscar nomination for best supporting actor in this film about the life, and obviously, death of the outlaw Jesse James. Brad Pitt plays the title character. He’s busy planning his next big heist while trying to avoid all of the people eager to bring him down and collect the reward.

The Jane Austen Book Club: This romantic drama is based on the 2004 book of the same name. Four Californians form a book club to discuss Jane Austen novels. Each of them has an experience that mirrors what happens in the books they discuss.
