Adele Elizabeth Study, 84, of Sykesville died Jan. 21, 2008, at Copper Ridge, Sykesville.

Born June 16, 1923, in Reisterstown, she was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Thelma Morehead Black. She was the wife of the late Lester W. Study.

She had been employed in food service with the Baltimore County Public School System. She loved duckpin bowling and playing bingo. She had spent the last few years at Copper Ridge.

She is survived by son Lester S. Study of North Carolina; daughter Joyce S. Knauff of Reisterstown; brothers Millard Black of Westminster and Spurgeon Black of Owings Mills; sisters Esther Moran of Severna Park and Lola Darby of Glen Burnie; grandchildren Bruce Michael Knauff of Marriottsville and Valerie Adele Cataffa of Reisterstown; and great-grandchildren Austin and Tyler Knauff and Richard and Bennett Cataffa. She was predeceased by brothers Benjamin F. Black and Clarence “Connie“ Black.

A funeral service was held at the Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, Sykesville with the Rev. Wayne Larson officiating. Interment will be in Wards Chapel Cemetery.
