Poppy Helgren and Robert Lau of Las Vegas announce their marriage on Sept. 19 in an ocean side ceremony at the Sandals Regency La Toc Resort, Castries, St. Lucia. Civil Officer Emma Gloria Charles officiated. A reception was held in November at Normandie Farm in Potomac.
The bride is the daughter of Lester G. Moore of Lavaca, Ark., and the late Lou Dell Moore. She holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University of Hawaii and a master of education degree from Boston University. She is an obstetrics R.N.C., a Lamaze certified childbirth educator and a Women’s Healthcare Nurse Practitioner.
The groom’s parents are Grant F. Lau of Sacramento, Calif., and the late Mary T. ‘‘Kalena” Lau. He is a 1976 alumnus of Robert E. Peary High School, holds a bachelor of arts degree in radio, television and film from the University of Maryland and a master of general administration degree from University of Maryland University College. He owns Netvision Talent in Las Vegas.
