A federal grand jury on Monday issued an indictment in a multi-million-dollar tax fraud scandal in Washington, D.C.

Ricardo Walters, 32, of Fort Washington was charged with receiving stolen property and aiding and abetting in stealing property, according to court documents.

The jury alleges that Walters cashed a government check for $375,815 drawn from a D.C. bank account and crossed state borders after ‘‘being stolen, unlawfully converted, and taken,” the documents said.

Walters faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if convicted. His arraignment has not been scheduled.
