The Montgomery County Planning Board approved the resubdivision of 12 acres on the west side of Slidell Road in Boyds last week.

A preliminary plan submitted by property owner David Janis proposes splitting the parcel, known as the Pollekoff property, into two lots connected by a shared private driveway, according to county planning documents. The 4.6-acre lot will contain an existing single-family home and a septic field, and a new single-family house will be built on the 5.2-acre lot, the documents state. The septic field for the new lot will be located on an outlot, which can only become a buildable lot if the change is approved by the Planning Board.

The five-member board unanimously approved the resubdivision preliminary plan at its Jan. 3 meeting.
