Join fight against osteoporosis

Volunteers are needed to teach free Bone Builders classes, designed to prevent and slow development of osteoporosis.

Osteoporosis causes bones to become thin and easily broken. Although osteoporosis can strike at any age, it affects one in three women and one in eight men over the age of 60. Each one-hour session includes balance training, weight training and a health discussion.

Volunteer leaders receive eight hours of free training and ongoing supervision. Training is set from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Jan. 14 at the Leland Community Center in Chevy Chase. Call Shawn Brennan at 240-777-1350.
