January

Jan. 1

Antonio Thomas Jermaine Matthews was shot and killed in the 3400 block of Dodge Park Road in Hyattsville. Matthews, who was found by police with gunshots wounds to his upper body, was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead.

Jan. 3

A District man was shot and killed by Prince George’s County police in the 6600 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale. Mark Antonio Washington, 43, was chased by police cruisers, lost control of his vehicle on a Baltimore Washington Parkway ramp and was surrounded by officers. Washington rammed his vehicle into the police cars, prompting officers to fire on the vehicle. Two officers were injured in the incident. Washington was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jan. 6

Brenda Gail Ryans, 42, was shot and killed in the 5400 block of 56th Avenue in Bladensburg while standing outside an apartment building. Police said two suspects approached Ryans, who had no fixed address, shot her and fled.

Jan. 9

A security guard making a regular check of an industrial area in the 4400 block of Lottsford Vista Road in Bowie found Yehuda Erez-Kdosa slumped over a car in the parking lot just after 10 p.m. Erez-Kdosa, 56, a California resident, was inspecting a piece of property he recently bought when he was shot to death, according to police. He was in town visiting family in the Bowie area, police said.

Jan. 12

Police found 7-11 employee Bekuretsion Gebreamlak dead in his store on Livingston Road in Fort Washington after gunshots were reported. Gebreamlak, 57, a Suitland resident, was shot once in the upper body and died at the scene. The suspect, a light-skinned black male wearing sunglasses and gloves, entered the store, brandished a gun and demanded money. The suspect shot Gebreamlak and fled the scene, according to police.

Jan. 17

A dispute between a woman’s ex-boyfriend and her current partner ended in the shooting death of Joseph Lavelle Thompson, 25. Thompson was found by county police lying on the sidewalk in front of a single-family home in the 220 block of Vermont Avenue in Hyattsville. Nathan Matthews of Hyattsville was charged with second-degree murder.

Jan. 18

Brenda Collington was shot and killed inside her District Heights apartment by her husband, Lawrence Collington. Lawrence Collington, 53, told county police he shot his wife during a heated argument just before noon. Brenda Collington suffered gunshot wounds to her upper body. Lawrence Collington received treatment for non-life threatening injuries and was charged with first-degree murder.

Jan. 20

District resident Otis Ross was found dead after suffering multiple gunshot wounds on Bunker Hill Road in Brentwood. County officers responded to a call of gunshots being fired, and found Ross, 32, at the scene. He was transported to Prince George’s Hospital Center, where he died.

Jan. 22

Landover resident Antoine Allen died when he was shot several times in the upper body on Saville Lane in Bowie. Prince George’s police have not released further details about the case.

Jan. 22

Seria Robertson was stabbed to death by a man who attacked her from behind a trash dumpster on Kennebec Street in Oxon Hill around midnight. Robertson, 20, a District resident, was found by county police lying behind the dumpster with stab wounds to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police arrested and charged Edwin Keith Harris, 21, also a District resident, with first-degree murder. Investigators said Robertson and Harris were dating.

Jan. 24

Prince George’s Police Cpl. Keith Washington allegedly fired gunshots at two Marlo furniture movers in his Accokeek home, killing one man and injuring the other. Washington, a 16-year veteran of the county police department, opened fire on the movers after an argument escalated. Brandon Clark, 22, an Oxon Hill resident, died after being taken to Prince George’s Hospital Center. Robert White, 36, was in critical condition, but survived the gunshot wounds.

Jan. 27

Two men robbed Fort Washington Liquors in the 10200 block of Old Fort Road in the afternoon. An employee, Seong-Hoon No, 32, was shot and killed, while another suffered life-threatening injuries. The suspects, Zachary Anthony Johnson and Joseph Lloyd Caulfield, allegedly stole money and fled on foot. They were later arrested and charged in Atlantic City, N.J.

Jan. 28

Darius Berry was sitting on a couch in his ground floor, Oxon Hill apartment when someone fired a shot through his sliding glass door. Berry, 20, was killed by the single gunshot. Police could not determine if the gunman targeted Berry or if it was a random shooting.

Jan. 28

Travis Lashawn Robinson of Suitland was shot and killed during an early morning skirmish outside J’s Sports Café in Laurel. As county police approached two groups of people arguing and fighting, a gunshot rang out and police found Robinson, 29, lying on the ground. He was transported to a hospital, where he died.

Jan. 28

Junius Roundtree Jr. of Clinton was the victim of a hit and run in the 4800 block of Saint Barnabas Road in Temple Hills just before 8 p.m. Roundtree, who was pronounced dead at the scene, was crossing the road when he was struck by a dark-colored vehicle that could have sustained damage to the front end, police said.

Jan. 30

Police are still trying to identify the victim of a homicide in the 7200 block of Joplin Road in Seat Pleasant. County police found a black male in his early-to-mid-20s suffering from upper body trauma. The man died shortly after being found. Investigators have not established a motive.

February

Feb. 6

Kelvin Jackson of Capitol Heights was shot several times on his front porch in the 500 block of Cedarleaf Avenue in Capitol Heights. Jackson was seen an hour earlier walking with two or three men, who fled the scene after gunshots were fired, according to police reports.

Feb. 7

Edgardo Carlos Fuentes, a Hyattsville resident, was found with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the floor of his laundry room apartment. A neighbor called police, who declared Fuentes, 36, dead at the scene. Police said residents heard gunshots about an hour before a neighbor found Fuentes’ body.

Feb. 11

Courtney Lawrence Manning, 16, of Bowie was found dead in his Cadillac at the intersection of Pine View and Woodyard Road in Clinton after suffering a gunshot wound to the upper body. Manning’s friends said he and a group of people were fired on by men in a black, four-door car with tinted windows after they left Clinton’s Club Neon. Another person was shot, but survived, according to police.

Feb. 13

Sean Bolaji Oderinde of Hyattsville was shot in the upper body and killed during a nighttime robbery in the 4000 block of Coopers Lane in Landover Hills. Police found Oderinde, 18, lying on the ground outside an apartment building. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died the next day. Michael Anthony Clarke, 26, of Colmar Manor was later arrested and charged with the crime.

Feb. 26

Hilmar Barillas of Hyattsville was killed in a hit and run during rush hour in the 5200 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Riverdale. Police said Barillas, 38, was struck by a vehicle when he exited his car after getting into a traffic accident.

Feb. 27

Randall Wade Harvey, a Mount Rainier resident, was shot and killed as he fled from the armed suspect near his home. Responding to reports of gunfire, police found Harvey, 25, dead at the scene. He attempted to escape the gunman by jumping out of the rear window of an apartment building, according to county police.

March

March 1

Carlos Cordon, who had been reported missing to Montgomery County police, was found dead in the 7900 block of 14th Avenue in Hyattsville. Cordon, 35, a Silver Spring resident, was the victim of a homicide, police said. Reports did not specify how he was killed.

March 2

Melvin Austin Reid was found dead around 4 p.m. after suffering gunshot wounds to his upper body in the 4200 block of Pear Street in Capitol Heights. Reid, 29, was seen in an altercation with the suspect before he was killed. The suspect fled immediately after the shooting, police said.

March 2

Ricardo Alfredo Carbajal, a Hyattsville resident, was found with multiple stab wounds in the 2000 block of University Boulevard in Hyattsville. He was transported to a hospital, where he died three days later, according to county police. Police are searching for a suspect.

March 4

Kimberly Denise Dabney of Hyattsville was shot and killed by her bother-in-law, Latez Cornell Cooper, 38, a Fort Washington resident, at noon in the 11200 block of Hannah Way in Upper Marlboro. Cooper, who was separated from his wife, drove to her home, got out of his car and shot Dabney as she stood on the sidewalk. Cooper grabbed his wife, shot her and killed himself. His wife was admitted to a hospital in critical condition.

March 4

Police found the decomposed body of a man lying near a creek in the 3100 block of Powder Mill Road in Hyattsville. The victim did not have identification, according to reports.

March 5

Jorge Sigueroa-Ortiz of College Park was found by county police sitting unconscious in the 12300 block of Clonnie Place in Beltsville around 11 p.m. He had suffered a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.

March 9

Jeff Powell, 16, of the District, was found shot to death March 9, in the 5700 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill. Officers responded to a report of a male unconscious on the ground and found Powell suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

March 11

Maurice Thomas Powell of Capitol Heights was found by police with a single gunshot to his upper body near the intersection of Daimler Drive and Central Avenue in Capitol Heights. Powell and two of his friends were walking home from a movie around 1:30 a.m. when they were followed by a group of four men. Powell and his friends ran and the group fired several shots. Powell was hit in the upper body and his friends escaped without injury, police said. The suspects fled on foot.

March 16

Theodora Summers was inside her Lanham home when a stray bullet struck her around 5 p.m. The bullet was one of many fired during a drive-by shooting that injured a 24-year-old male, according to police. The suspects fled in two vehicles, one light colored and one dark colored. Police discovered 40-year-old Summers’ body when her sister noticed she did not show up for work that night.

March 17

Brian Francis Bell of Clinton was shot to death after getting in a fender bender in the parking lot of a Hyattsville restaurant. Bell, 21, was rear-ended by the driver of a white Toyota Camry, who proceeded to fire several shots at Bell’s car outside Mad Chef Café. He was hit in the upper body and died shortly after. The suspect fled after the shooting, according to police.

March 17

A man was shot and killed in the 5300 block of Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill after he refused to hand over money to an armed suspect. Police found the victim — who has not been positively identified — lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police reports.

March 17

Derrick Taylor, a 19-year-old District man, was shot and killed by two suspects who opened fire in the hallway of an apartment in the 3800 block of Regency Drive in Suitland. Another man was wounded during the shooting, according to police.

March 18

Carlos Webb, 39, of Alexandria was found shot to death in the 9500 block of Glenn Way, Fort Washington. Webb was found lying on the ground, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

March 20

James Harvey Bowie was shot multiple times in his apartment building in the 3200 block of Swann Road in Suitland. Bowie, 22, was pronounced dead at the scene. County police said they are looking for a black SUV that fled the scene shortly after gunshots were reported in the apartment.

March 21

Keith Dreher, 27, was shot to death in the 5300 block of Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill after he refused to hand over money. Dreher was found lying on the ground in the parking lot of a Papa John's with a single gunshot wound to the upper body.

March 22

David Michael Sloley, 24, was shot in the 4800 block of Allentown Road in Camp Springs. Sloley, of the 500 block of 67th Place, Seat Pleasant, was pronounced dead on the scene. Police are looking for a small white car that was seen leaving the scene at a high speed.

March 22

Ebenezer Ankuma, 52, was found suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body near Toledo Terrace in Hyattsville. Ankuma, of the 3400 block of Toledo Terrace, was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Police suspect the victim may have been shot during a robbery as he was walking to his home.

March 26

Dwayne Christopher Franklin, 19, was found with multiple gunshot wounds in the 800 block of Marcy Avenue in Oxon Hill. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police detectives say they believe Franklin was being pursued in the 1000 block of Marcy Avenue by a man who began firing at him.

March 27

Dwight Smith, of the 5000 block of Lee Jay Court in Capitol Heights, was pronounced dead at the scene in the 6500 block of Hil Mar Drive in District Heights. Police found Smith, 32, lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound.

April

April 1

Police responded to a call from a woman who had found a body in the 2700 block of Firehouse Road in Landover Hills. The victim was identified as Terrick Lamar Garris, 23, of the 7300 block of Goodland Drive in Hyattsville, When police arrived on the scene they found Garris lying near a creek. He had gunshot wounds to the upper body and had been set on fire. His body was taken to the medical examiner's office for an autopsy.

April 2

Kenneth Cameron, 51, of the 5100 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Hyattsville, called 911 after he reportedly killed his mother. Police arrived at the scene and found 71-year-old Ester Mae Cameron lying on the living room floor with trauma to her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. According to investigative reports the suspect got into a verbal argument with his mother, retrieved a hammer and struck her several times. After the assault he called the police and told them what had transpired. He was charged with first degree murder.

April 8

Keenan Wynn Kearse, 38, was found inside his apartment in the 4400 block of 23rd Parkway in Temple Hills, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigative reports suggest that Kearse was inside of his apartment when the suspects knocked on his door. Once inside, the suspects brandished a gun, demanded money and shot the victim. The suspects fled the apartment after the shooting. The investigation is still ongoing.

April 10

Janae Quanique Giles, 22, of the 7900 block of Johnson Avenue, Lanham, and Delonte Bruce Johnson, 22, of the 6900 block of Woodstream Turn in Lanham, were found inside a vehicle in the 4400 block of 23rd parkway in Temple Hills with gunshot wounds to the upper body. The victims were taken to local hospitals where they were pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Police have learned that the victims were sitting in the car when a suspect approached the passenger side of the vehicle. The suspect produced a handgun and fired several shots at the victims in the car. After the shooting the suspect fled the scene.

April 15

Carlos Eduardo Milian, 34, of the 8600 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring was at a bus stop in the 7900 block of New Hampshire Avenue in Langley Park when the two suspects approached him, revealed a gun and demanded that Milian give them his necklace. He refused and one of the suspects shot him. Afterward, the suspects fled in a gray car. Milian was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. According to police reports the suspects' vehicle had been car jacked earlier that day in the 5600 block of Ager Road. After obtaining a description of the vehicle, patrol officers tracked the suspects to the intersection of Queens Chapel Road and Chillum Road where they were arrested. Misael Pena, 26, of the 2600 block of Kirkwood Place in Hyattsville and Henry Angulo-Gil, 31, of the 6300 block of Ager Road in Hyattsville were charged with first-degree murder. They were remanded to the Department of Corrections with no bond.

April 15

Jerrod Amahd Falls, 31, of 5600 block of Regency Park Court in Suitland was shot twice in the upper body on April 14, after he became involved in an argument with another man attending a function at the Woodlawn Recreation Center, off of Greenvale Parkway in Landover Hills. The argument escalated into a fist fight. Falls was pronounced dead shortly after the shooting. A 31-year-old woman standing nearby was also shot, but was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police have obtained an arrest warrant and are searching for Dixon, 25.

April 16

Randy Alan Brooking, of the 12800 block of Redgrave Drive in Upper Marlboro, was found shot to death at the intersection of Glenarden Parkway and Brightseat Road in Lanham, Brooking, 27, suffered from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy.

April 20

Michael Tavon Wilson of the District was found shot to death in the 1100 block of Southview Drive in Oxon Hill. Police were called to the scene and found Wilson's body. Police have no suspect and no motive.

April 21

The body of a victim was found in the 1800 block of Village Green Drive in Hyattsville on April 21. According to police reports, officers arrived at the scene and found a man lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have identified the victim, but will not release the name until his next of kin has been notified. The investigation is ongoing.

April 24

Robert Edward Gonzalez, 29, of Arlington, Va. was shot to death on University Boulevard in Adelphi. Police reported to University Boulevard around 8:12 p.m. on April 24 to investigate a reported shooting. When they arrived they found Gonzalez lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

April 29

Michael Lamont Stewart, 43, of Hilmar Drive in District Heights, and Duane Edward Nichols, 48, of Elmira Avenue in Lanham, were shot and killed on Early Oaks Lane in Capitol Heights. According to police reports at approximately 9p.m. on April 29 two men drove to the 1300 block of Early Oaks Lane and approached a man standing in the area. The man standing in the area revealed a handgun and began firing at the two men. One of the victims fled the scene and drove to a hospital where he was admitted and treated for non-life threatening injuries. The other victim, Stewart, was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Hours later police received a call that another shooting victim had been found inside a house on Early Oaks Lane. The victim, Nichols, was found with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Officers received information that he was shot around the same time the other shootings occurred, and he may have been targeted. The investigation of the shootings is still ongoing.

May 6

Jose Felix Carcamo, 32, of no fixed address, was found dead about 12:30 a.m. May 6 at a Hyattsville intersection, according to Prince George's County Police, who are seeking leads in the case. Carcamo was found at the intersection of Rhode Island and Baltimore avenues with a gunshot wound to his upper body. Police are continuing their investigation and an autopsy is being performed by the medical examiner in Baltimore. May 6

Pierre Laphonso Whitney, 46, of the District was stabbed to death early May 6 in a parking lot outside a Colmar Manor restaurant, and police say the victim and others were involved in a fight in the restaurant before the stabbing. Whitney and another man were allegedly stabbed in the upper body and found in the parking lot of the restaurant located in the 3600 block of Bladensburg Road, according to a news release from Prince George's County Police, who arrived about 3:45 a.m. Both were taken to local hospitals where Whitney died later, police reports said. The second victim, whose name has not been released, suffered non-life-threatening injuries. May 10

Charlestine Mae Godbold , 38, of Clinton was found in her own backyard and the circumstances of her death are under investigation by Prince George's County Police. Police responded to a call from a resident in the 9500 block of Badger Avenue who found the woman's body on his property around 1:45 a.m. Police said the death is the result of a dispute between persons at the residence. Upon arrival at the scene, officers discovered that Godbold had suffered severe trauma to her upper body, police said. Jerome Michael Miller, 45, of the same address, has been charged with first degree murder in connection with the homicide. Miller was Godbold's boyfriend.

May 16

Lionel Demetrius Lindsay, 45, of the District was shot to death May 16 in a Laurel apartment at about 8:30 p.m., police said. Lindsay, who had gunshot wounds to the upper body, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Eviaya Quarles, 31, of Laurel turned himself into police after he allegedly shot Lindsay while in his apartment in the 8800 block of Hawthorne Lane. Lindsay approached Quarles, showed a handgun and threatened him, police said. Quarles drew his own handgun and shot him, police said. Cpl. Diane Richardson, a police spokeswoman, could not say why Lindsay was in Quarles' apartment. Quarles has been charged with manslaughter and possession of a handgun, police said. He turned himself in after a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said. He was remanded to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro with $150,000 bond.

May 17

Katherine Borum Parkman, 64, was found unconscious in the 5000 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Edmonston, Prince George's County Police reported. Police said when they responded to a call from a resident in the same block about at 11:30 p.m., they found Parkman unconscious with multiple stab wounds to the upper body. She was pronounced dead on the scene. Police detectives believe the victim knew the suspect, however, no motive has been established for the slaying.

May 25

Nathaniel Banks Jones, 49, of 6500 block of Gateway Boulevard in District Heights was shot to death shortly after midnight May 25 after getting into an argument with his brother, police said. Officers responded to the home for the report of the shooting and found Jones suffering from a gunshot would to his upper body. Police said that the two began arguing prior to the shooting. His brother Bobby Banks Jones, 51, of the same address was charged with first-degree murder.

May 25

Samuel D'Costa, 36, of Beltsville was found dead in the basement of a home off 9th Street in Old Town Bowie by a builder on May 25, police said. D'Costa was a real estate agent and may have been trying to sell the home in was in. He had been missing for two days. Police said he was shot twice in his upper body and left in the basement as the suspect or suspects stole his vehicle.

May 26

Desmond Leon Edmundson, 32, of Capitol Heights was found fatally shot near Glenarden on May 26, police said. No arrests have been made in the case, but detectives said suspects in two vehicles drove by the front yard where Edmundson and a juvenile were standing and began firing. The juvenile was transported to a local hospital with injuries that considered non life-threatening.

May 28

Chauncey Harold Jones, 46, of the 3600 block of 24th Avenue in Temple Hills was shot to death shortly after 2 a.m. on May 28, according to police.Police responded to the shooting in the area of the home and found Jones inside his house with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was taken to Prince George's County Hospital Center where he was pronounced dead a short time later. His brother-in-law Frederick Louis Gwyn, 67, of the same address, was arrested at the scene and charged with manslaughter. Police say they two became involved in an argument before the shooting.

June

June 1

Darryl Anderson, 32, of the 10300 block of Marlboro Woods Drive in Upper Marlboro was suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body at about 7 p.m. on June 1 in the 2500 block of Olson Street in Temple Hills, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no suspects and no motives.

June 6

Jermaine Lamont Smith, 30, of the 9700 block of Dorval Avenue in Clinton was found shot in the upper body around 3 a.m. on June 6 after police responded to reports of shots fired in that area, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a spokesman for the Prince George's County Police Department. Police have no suspects and no information on a possible vehicle leaving the scene, Copeland said. Police are still searching for a motive.

June 9

Eric Girad Jones, 36, of Silver Spring was found shot in front of a Temple Hills apartment building at 3:30 a.m. June 9, according to Prince George's County Police. Officers responded to a call reporting the sound of gunshots in the 3800 block of Regency Parkway. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he later died. The investigation is ongoing. Police have no suspects and no motive.

June 11

Lachrisha Patrice Williams, 32, of the 4200 block of Suitland Road was found in Suitland at 11: 50 p.m. on June 11, according to Prince George's County Police Department. Police responded to the 4600 block of Lamar Avenue at 11:50 p.m. and found the body of an adult female with trauma to the upper body. The woman was not carrying identification and was pronounced dead on the scene. Her body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore for an autopsy. Police have no suspects no motive. The investigation is ongoing.

June 16

Octavio Pascual, 25, of the 8100 block of 15th Avenue in Langley Park was found stabbed to death in front of his home on June 16, according to Prince George's County Police. At about 9 a.m., officers responded to the address for the report of a stabbing. When they arrived, they found Pascual suffering from multiple stab wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. While police have no suspect, they believe that Pascual knew the killer. Circumstances surrounding the death are being investigated.

June 19

Lamont Coley, 34, was stabbed multiple times with a knife in the mid- and-upper back during an argument outside his apartment at Summerlyn Place near Bowie Road in Laurel, according to Laurel police. Eric Jerome Wills, 21, of the 3400 block of Robey Terrace in Silver Spring was charged with first-degree murder, after turning himself him. Police had not identified a motive but neighbors said Wills was upset with Coley for comments he allegedly made to the suspect’s aunt, who was also the victim’s live-in girlfriend. Police were called to the parking lot in the 14700 block of Shiloh Court shortly after 8 p.m. June 19 for a reported stabbing. Officers arrived to find bystanders performing CPR on Coley, who died about an hour later at Laurel Regional Hospital. The victim, suspect and several other people had been hanging around the parking lot, police said. Deputy Police Chief Richard McLaughlin said alcohol was found near the scene but he stopped short of saying drinking played a role in the attack.

June 22

Brian Keith Comploier, 32, of Crofton was found shortly after 2 a.m. on June 22 lying in the parking lot of an Upper Marlboro bar with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. Police responded to the 5700 block of Crain Highway where they discovered Comploier and learned that he was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect inside Wyvill’s Tavern. The altercation continued outside of the club where the victim was shot and the suspect fled the scene. Comploier was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

July 8

Evelyn Nadine Woods, 50, of Bowie was shot to death in her home July 8 by her son, who later killed himself in Delaware, police said. At about 8 p.m., Prince George’s County police received a call about gunshots in the 14000 block of Dunwood Valley Drive. Christopher Wayne Gary, 27, of Germantown went into the house, shot and killed his mother then went outside and shot at his stepfather several times. He missed his stepfather, but one of the rounds struck a neighbor, who was standing across the street, police spokesperson Cpl. Diane Richardson said. Gary fled the scene. He shot himself the next day after he had been cornered by two police officers in Wilmington, Del, police said.

July 14

Francisco Quintanilla, 19, of Riverdale, was found shot to death in Riverdale Park on July 14, police said. Police responded to the 5300 block of Riverdale Road after sounds of gunfire were reported at 12:30 a.m. When police arrived, they found Quintanilla suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he later died. Police have no suspects and no motive.

July 14

Kevin Lamont Warren, 29, of Virginia was found fatally shot at a Capitol Heights intersection on July 14, police said. Police were called to Cindy Lane and Central Avenue around 3 a.m. after sounds of gunshots were reported. Warren was found lying in the street. Another unidentified male was treated for a gunshot wound in the same incident, but his injuries were not considered life threatening, police said. Police have no suspects.

Christopher Wellington, 24, of Oxon Hill was found shot to death at his home on July 14, police said. Police responded top the 6300 block of Stonewain Court for the report of an unconscious man at about 6:30 a.m. When police arrived, they found Wellington, who had suffered gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no suspects and no motive.

July 16

Jose Roberto Gomez, 44, of Forest Heights was found shot to death near his home on the morning of July 16, police said. Police responded to the 700 block of Audrey Lane for the report of a shooting shortly after 5 a.m. and found Gomez suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later. Police said robbery may have been the motive, but they have no suspects.

Michael Morris, 51 of the 8200 block of Bellefonte Lane in Clinton was shot to death July 24, following a neighborhood dispute near his home. according to Prince George’s County Police Spokeswoman Cpl. Diane Richardson. Morris was shot in the chest around 7:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no suspects, and the case is still under investigation.

July 22

Ferdy Aloelando Martinez, 16, of Hyattsville was found shot to death on July 22 in the Langley Park area of Hyattsville. At about 12:30 a.m., Prince George’s County police officers arrived at the 8100 block of 15th Avenue to find Martinez and a 19-year-old man from Langley Park lying in the street. Both had multiple gunshot wounds. Martinez was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to a local hospital. The Langley Park man suffered non-life-threatening injuries. No arrests have been made, and a motive has not been established.

July 25

Arnell Benjamin Carrington, 27, of the District was found shot to death in the early morning hours of July 25 in Landover, a spokeswoman for the Prince George’s County Police Department said. He was pronounced dead at the scene. At about 2 a.m. officers responded to the 7300 block of Landover Road and found Carrington’s body. He had been shot multiple times. Police do not know whether Carrington was killed on the road or if his body was taken there. Police have no suspects and no motive.

August

Aug. 1

Julia Fils-Aime, 21, of Hyattsville was shot to death Aug. 1 in what police believe was a robbery in Chillum Park. At about 8:45 p.m., Prince George’s County police officers responded to 16th Avenue and Cypress Creek Drive for the report of a shooting and found a man lying in the street. The man said there was another victim in Chillum Park, which is bordered by Cypress Creek Drive, according to police. Officers found Fils-Aime of the 6900 block of 23rd Place, with gunshot wounds. Both victims were taken to a nearby hospital where Fils-Aime was pronounced dead a short time later. Police are searching for suspects.

Aug. 2

John Hester Scales, 36, of Brandywine and Tunja Unise Luckett, 36, of Fort Washington, were shot to death on Aug. 2, after Luckett’s husband mistakingly thought they were having an affair, according to the Prince George’s Police Department. Police said that at about 6:45 p.m. Terris Terrell Luckett, 39, shot his wife to death in their home in the 7700 block of Lanham, then traveled to the barber shop in Clinton, where he shot Scales 10 minutes later. Terris Luckett is now in critical condition at an area hospital after trying to take his own life by jumping onto the tracks of an oncoming Metro train at the Southern Avenue station in Temple Hills, according to Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a spokesman for the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Aug. 4.

Andrew Jacobi Davis, 22, of Oxon Hill was shot to death Aug. 4 in what police say was an armed robbery at the Murry’s Steak House in Oxon Hill where he worked, according to Prince George’s County Police. At about 9:16 p.m. police were called to the store in the 6100 block of Livingston Road for the report of a shooting. Officers found Davis and another employee suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken to a hospital where Davis was pronounced dead a short time later. The other employee suffered non-life threatening injuries. Police said the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect fired shots and fled the scene on foot. The Prince George’s County Police Department is offering cash reward of up to $25,000 for the tip that leads to an arrest and indictment.

Aug. 9

Idris Mohammed Abdul Wakoub, 22, of Laurel was found in a burning car in Landover Aug. 9. Police and fire officials responded to the 7100 block of Sheriff Road at about 11 p.m. for the report of a car fire, according to Prince George’s County Police. After extinguishing the fire, they found Wakoub of the 9500 block of Muirkirk Road in the car. He was pronounced dead at the scene, said Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a police spokesman. The circumstances of the incident are still being investigated. Police have reason to believe the fire was set intentionally and was not an accident, Copeland said. Kendrix Nikita Thomas, 28, of Anne Arundel County was found shot to death in his car in Clinton in the early morning hours of Aug. 9, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. Shortly before 1 a.m., police were called to the 6600 block of Surratts Road for the report of the sound of gunfire. Officers arrived and found Thomas, of Edgewater, inside his car suffering from a gunshot wound. Police said they believe the victim was involved in an argument prior to the shooting. No arrests have been made. Police said the case is still under investigation.

Isaac Ross, 58, of the District was found shot to death in Capitol Heights in the early morning hours of Aug. 15. Police were called about 1:15 a.m. to the 1900 block of Rochelle Avenue, where they found Ross on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He later died from his injuries at a local hospital. Police said the case is still under investigation. A $25,000 reward will be given to whoever gives police the tip leading to a suspect’s arrest. Max Gonzalez, 59, of Upper Marlboro was found shot to death on Aug. 15 in the mobile home park where he lived, according to Prince George’s County Police. Gonzalez of the 9400 block of Beech Park Street was found unconscious lying in his front yard in the Fernwood mobile community, according to Cpl. Stephen Pacheco, a spokesman for the police department. Police found Gonzalez suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no suspects and no motive and the investigation is continuing. Aug. 18

Claude Chester Hood, 33, of Oxon Hill was stabbed to death Aug. 18 in Suitland after becoming involved in an altercation, according to Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a spokesperson for the Prince George’s County Police Department. Just after midnight in the 4100 block of Suitland Road, Hood was stabbed in his upper body after the suspect produced a knife during an altercation. The suspect stabbed Hood and fled the scene. Hood was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died a short time later. Police are searching for the suspect.

Aug. 24

Albert Calvin Savoy, 26, of the 4700 block of Dallas Place was shot near his Temple Hills home on Aug. 24, according to Prince George’s County Police. Police were called to the area around 9 p.m. for the sound of gunfire and found Savoy suffering from gunshot wounds. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he died a short time later. Police have no suspects and no motive.

Eric Charles Bowie, 44, of Landover was found shot to death on Aug. 25 near his home, according to Prince George’s County Police. Police responded to the 7600 block of Pembrook Place for the report of gunshots around 2:30 a.m. and found Bowie suffering from gunshot wounds. Bowie of the 7600 block of Normandy Road was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have no suspects and no motive.

Aug. 25

Julio Ceasar Guevara, 35, of Seat Pleasant was stabbed to death at his home on Aug. 25 and an acquaintance has been charged in connection with his death, according to the Prince George’s County Police Department. Police were called to Guevara’s home in the 100 block of Jonquil Avenue for a domestic incident. According to police, Guevara and Julio Cesar Herrarte, 36, of the same address, were involved in an argument when they began to fight and Herrarte allegedly stabbed Guevara in the abdomen. Herrarte was arrested and charged with homicide.

Aug. 29

Frank Darnel Abercombie II, 16, of Landover was found shot to death in the early morning hours of Aug. 29 in Upper Marlboro, according to Cpl. Stephen Pacheco, a spokesperson for the Prince George’s County Police Department. Police responded to the 10100 block of Fox Run Drive at about 2 a.m. for the report of a shooting. They found Abercombie of the 2300 block of Romney Court in front of a 7-Eleven store in the 10100 block of Fox Run Drive suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. Police have no suspects and no motive.

Sept. 6

Taoheed Omatayo Gazal, 24, of the 4100 block of Warner Avenue was shot just before 3 a.m. in the 9700 block of Lanham Severn Road. Prior to the shooting he was involved in a dispute in the parking lot of the Sinsationals night club.

Sept. 16

Henry Ixcot-Cifuentes, 26, of the 8200 block of 14th Avenue was stabbed at about 3:15 a.m. in the 8200 block of 14th Avenue. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died. Another man was stabbed during the incident and was admitted to a hospital with critical injuries.

Sept. 18

Leonard Cornelius Hopkins, 32, of the 11400 block of Lake Arbor Way was found dead in his home after police responded to a welfare call at about 10:45 a.m. Hopkins was found with trauma to his upper body and police believe it was not a random incident, and that he was targeted.

Sept. 19

Frederick Thomas Martin, 38, of the 5400 block of Livingston Terrace was found dead in his home just before 6:30 p.m. with trauma to his upper body.

Sept. 20

Sean Antione Zanders, 24, of the 1200 block of N Street NW in Washington, D.C. was shot and killed in the 6800 block of Central Avenue at about 5 a.m.

Sept. 22

Camillus Boykins Jr., 33, of the 4200 block of 29th Street, was shot just after 7 a.m. at the intersection of 34th Street and Rhode Island Avenue. He was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later.

Sept. 26

Ronald Andre Worth Jr., 26, of the 3400 block of Curtis Drive, was shot just after 4 a.m. in the 3300 block of Branch Avenue. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Oct. 7

Bernard Brooks Jr., 26, of the 3700 block of 36th Street and Demetrius Dontae Kosh, 27, of the 2300 block of Brightseat Road were found at about 2:06 a.m. in the 3800 block of Quincy Street suffering from gunshot wounds. Both men later died at the hospital.

Oct. 12

Toykia Lynn Dow, 37, of the 5000 block of 54th Avenue was found at about 10:30 p.m. in the 2400 block of Kent Village Place with a gunshot wound to her upper body. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she died a short time later.

Oct. 25

Julius Charles Whaley Jr., 37, of Greenbelt was found dead by police officers, who responded to the 5800 block of Cherrywood Terace for the report of a sexual assault just before 5:15 p.m., with a woman advising that she had shot him, according to Greenbelt police. Whaley allegedly sexually assaulted the woman

Aubrey Jerome Wilkerson of the 6500 block of Hilmar Drive was found inside his car after police responded to the 7900 block of Cryden Way shortly before 10 a.m. for the report of a suspicious vehicle. He had been shot and was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Prince George’s County Police.

Oct. 31

Just before 6 p.m., police responded to the 2000 block of Addison Road for the report of a shooting and found Ramon Domonique Ware, 18, of the 2300 block of Brooks Drive, suffering from gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene, according to county police. Police believe Ware was involved in an altercation with an unknown person when someone fired shots from a nearby fence line.

Just after 3:15 a.m., police responded to the 4200 block of 58th Avenue and found a man with multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene. The victim has not yet been identified.

Nov. 1

Roberto Tario, 23, of the 13100 block of Oriole Drive in Hyattsville was found by police officers just before 3 a.m. in the 2100 block of University Boulevard with a single gunshot wound to his upper body, according to Prince George’s County Police. Tario was taken to a local hospital where he died a short time later.

Glenn Alfred Taylor, 31, of the 8500 block of Greenbelt Road, was found dead with a gunshot wound by police just before 7 p.m. in the 2600 block of Brightseat Road.

Nov. 3

Doween Simpson, 25, of the 4800 block of Willes Vision Drive was shot and killed on Sheriff Road by Dawan Nathaniel Markham, 18, of the 5500 block of Haras Place during a fight that occurred about 12:15 a.m.

Nov. 7

Charlie Mae Gordon, 54, of the 8100 block of Murray Hill Drive was shot in her home and found in the 8000 block of Alcona Drive at about 10 p.m. She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Police believe she was shot in her home during a robbery and ran out to the road. Pierre Omar LeGrande, 21, was charged with her death.

Dawan Maurice Miles, 20, of the 12700 block of Thrush Place was found shot and killed in his home about 5:15 p.m.

Torean Thomas Edon, 56, of the 2500 block of Edfeldt Drive was found shot to death outside his home just before 10 a.m.

Khalefa Ayodele, 30, was shot in his store at around noon in the 5800 block of Baltimore Ave.

Just after 3 a.m., police found Omar Vancurt Vanhorne, 31, of the 7900 block of Riggs Road lying in Chillum Road, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead a short time later. Investigators believe the motive was robbery.

Nov. 25

Just after 3:30 p.m., police responded to the 7300 block of Calder Drive for the report of a cutting. When officers arrived, they found Elias Greene, 67, inside his house with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A witness called police after hearing a disturbance.

Nov. 28

Just before 12:15 a.m., police responded to the 1300 block of Iron Forge Road for the report of a shooting. They found Sanford Lee Hoskey Jr., 28, of the 1300 block of Iron Forge Road inside his car, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police found Jaron Adaron Rhodes, 29, of the 6500 block of Pennsylvania Ave., suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body just after 8 p.m. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Dec. 1

Just after 2:30 p.m., police found Eva Laverne Smith, 34, of the 2500 block of Easton Street, inside her business in the 7400 block of Old Alexander Ferry Road with cuts on her upper body. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Police also found her husband in the business unconscious and taken to a hospital. Police allege he killed his wife, then tried to kill himself.

Dec. 3

At about 12:45 a.m., police found Juan Antonio Granados Alvarenga, 32, inside his residence in the 8000 block of 15th Avenue, suffering from stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Dec. 6

A Silver Spring man was found stabbed to death in his Bladensburg business. At about 7:15 p.m., county police officers arrived at Two Brothers Tire City to find Fernando Monge, 43, lying on the floor with stab wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene. Kandelario Garcia-Ramos, of no fixed address, was arrested in connection with the homicide.

At about 9 p.m., Lekeysia Regene Byrd, 33, was found shot to death inside her home in the 4100 block of Shell Street. Police believe someone forced his way inside after knocking on the door, then demanded money and shot her. Byrd was with an acquaintance, who called police. Police believe the house was targeted and the crime was not random.

Dec. 14

At about 2 a.m., Sarah Jane Miller, 24, was shot in the abdomen in her home in the 7500 block of Greenleaf Road. Another woman, 44, was shot and treated for non life-threatening injuries. Witnesses saw a dark-colored sedan leaving the area just after the shooting.

Dec. 16

At about 3:47 p.m., police found Lamar John Mckelley with a gunshot wound to the upper body in the 1100 block of Southview Dr. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Dec. 21

At about 2 p.m., police found Andre Brown, 33, of the 1000 block of Balboa Avenue dead in a car in the 2000 block of Addison Road.

At about 7:30 p.m., police found Saul Antonio Cortez of the 3900 block of 53rd Place in the same location with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just before 8:30 a.m. in the 5500 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road, police found Corey Antoine Robinson of the 6500 block of Hilmar Drive, with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Just after 4 a.m., police found Dennis William Poe Jr., 26, of the 1100 block of Hamlin Road in the 3300 block of Branch Avenue suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead.

At about 9 p.m., police found Juan Diego Rivas, 33, of the 5800 block of 33rd Avenue along the roadway in the 5400 block of Haiig Drive with a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
