Dunkirk woodcarver’s bald eagle on display at American Legion

Throughout the past three years, Dunkirk resident Bob Arscott spent hours crafting every detail of an eagle carving. Now, it’s complete and on display at the American Legion Stallings Williams Post 206 in Chesapeake Beach. Standing at about 5 feet tall with a 5½-foot wingspan, the bald eagle is a life-sized representation of the majestic mascot of the United States. But for Arscott, the beauty of his project is in the details.
