Tubman interpreter adds layers to history lessons

Mary B. Neal Elementary School students got a visit Tuesday from a woman who introduced herself as Araminta Ross. Wearing a head scarf and 19th-century style clothes, the guest caused a stir when she said, “Y’all may have known me by another name — Harriet Tubman,” said Shemika Berry, an historical interpreter, actress and makeup artist.
