Three Prince George’s County students have been named 2014 Carson Scholars.
Jasmine Maddy of Beltsville; Kristian Swann of Oxon Hill; and Chante Newsome of Laurel; have been named Carson Scholars, an award that comes with a $1,000 college scholarship, according to a Carson Scholar news release.
The three students were recognized for their academic achievements, as students thus honored between grades four through 11 must maintain a 3.75 grade point average and engage in community service, according to the news release.
In total, 510 students across the country were selected as Carson Scholars, according to the news release.
