The Prince George’s County Police Department is trying to determine who shot and killed a 20-year-old Oxon Hill resident.

On Jan. 6, shortly before 7 p.m., police officers responded to the 5000 block of Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill following reports of a shooting. Once they arrived, they found 20-year-old Tyrone Jackson dead on the scene. He had been shot multiple times in the upper body, police said. Jackson’s body was transported to the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore.

Police said that after Jackson was shot two suspects fled on foot. There is no description of the suspects or an established motive, police said.

Those with information about the shooting may call the county’s Homicide Unit at 301-772-4925. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous may call Crime Solvers at 866-411-TIPS. A cash reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for the tip that leads to the arrest of the suspect.
