Fish, Lent recognized for work with youth

James Fish and Ellen Lent received the Community Recognition Award by Drawing the Line on Under 21 Alcohol Use, acknowledging their contribution to reducing adolescent access to alcohol and improving the lives of area youth.

Fish, the principal of Sherwood High School, was recognized for his personal commitment to the prevention of underage alcohol use in the school community.

Lent is the adult leader of Project Change, a collaboration of high school students and adults committed to improving he Olney community by providing positive opportunities for area youth.

Drawing the Line on Under 21 Alcohol Use is a multi-agency public-private partnership aimed at creating community consensus that underage drinking is unhealthy, illegal and unacceptable.

Fish and Lent were honored at an awards ceremony on March 25 at county Board of Education headquartered in Rockville.
