How to register:
In order to register to vote in the state of Maryland you must complete a voter registration application. The application can be found online here. You may also request to have a Voter Registration Application sent to you from any county Board of Elections office, or you may call the board of elections toll free (1-800-222-8683) to receive an application.
Registration Applications are also available at county post offices, public libraries, public schools, community colleges, government regional services centers, aging and disability services, MVA offices, county licensing, and the county register of wills. In order to be eligible to vote in the state elections you must be a U.S. citizen, a Maryland resident, and be over 18 years old at the date of the election.
The application must be mailed or brought to either the state board of elections or to your county's board of elections. The application may not be sent via fax or e-mail. All applications must have an original signature present on the application in order for it to be processed and validated.
You will know when your application has been validated when you receive your voter registration card from your county board of elections in the mail. You should receive your validation within three weeks. If not, contact your county board of elections.
All of the board of election addresses and additional information can be found at the state Web site
