I am an educator who looks forward to bringing a young, fresh perspective to the race. I will work towards innovation and ideas that will enhance and enrich the future for families of Bowie.
What is your primary goal if elected?
To serve the citizens as a liaison to the city. It is also necessary to serve by building good relations with the county to enhance progress for Bowie.
Are Bowie's taxes too high?
Taxes are too high especially considering that we currently have no control over zoning. If we are paying high taxes, then our input regarding our future should be respected and valued.
What level of road upgrades and traffic improvements do you think are necessary in the city and how would you address them?
There are many concerned about the frequent speeding on 197 and around neighborhood roads. We need to become more vigilant for the sake of safety and explore options that will help the citizens.
Which city projects would you like to see get off the ground if elected?
I would like to see more students and families involved in enrichment programs and experiences that will nurture them intellectually, physically, socially and emotionally.
Do you believe there is too much, not enough or just enough commercial development in Bowie? Which types of business would you like to see in the city, if any?
I believe that we are seeing the end stages of commercial development in Bowie. Most residents agree that we do not want Bowie to resemble a trucking station. I would like to see a reading academy that would encourage and assist with critical reading skills for citizens of all ages, skill levels, and interests.
Do you believe there is too much, too little or just enough residential development in the city? Which types of housing do you believe should be brought to the city, if any?
Currently, we have enough residential building in Bowie.
Should Bowie have zoning authority?
Yes. As taxpaying citizens, we deserve to have our concerns over future zoning respected and valued by the county.
Do you believe Bowie has adequate county services for the amount of taxes the city pays? Which county services do you believe are needed?
We need to be the leader in reinforcing support for fire and EMS departments. Corners should never be cut when it puts the lives and homes of families at risk.
