The Betty Mae Kramer Gallery and Music Room in Silver Spring has an exhibition called “Natural Origins” through Oct. 3.

The exhibition is of works by Len Harris and Ellen Kalin.

Harris, a former NASA aerospace engineer, “boils and bends wooden strips into dynamic shapes that seem to defy the potential of the medium,” according to a news release from the gallery.

Kalin’s “canvases combine acrylic paint with organic collage elements to form patterns evocative of strata in the [E]arth’s layers, coastlines, and horizons,” the news release says.

The gallery is in the Silver Spring Civic Building at 1 Veterans Plaza. It is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
