Evan Glass has been selected as interim executive director for Gandhi Brigade, a Silver Spring-based nonprofit organization.

Richard Jaeggi, who founded the group in 2005, died in May at age 60.

Gandhi Brigade helps youths create social justice media, the group says.

Glass is a former CNN producer. He ran unsuccessfully for Montgomery County Council this year in District 5, losing in a Democratic primary.

When Glass was chairman of the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board, he “worked closely with the Gandhi Brigade to advocate for increased access to public space for youth programming and community serving nonprofits,” the organization said in a news release.

The organization has a search committee that is looking for a permanent successor to Jaeggi.
