Four Silver Spring companies and one in Burtonsville made Inc. Magazine’s 33rd annual list of the fastest-growing private companies nationwide.
Fenton Family Dental topped the Silver Spring companies with a revenue growth rate of 419 percent between 2010 and 2013, reaching $5.7 million. The dental practice, which has locations on Fenton Street and in Clinton, added 34 jobs during those three years, according to the magazine.
Fenton Family Dental ranked 1,063rd among the 5,000 fastest-growing companies. Inc. ranks 5,000 private, for-profit companies based on revenue growth in the past three years, featuring the top 500 in its September issue and the top 5,000 on its website.
High-tech contractor Special Operations Solutions was the second fastest-growing private company in the Silver Spring area, growing at a 206 percent clip over the three years, to $8.8 million.
The company — headquartered on Georgia Avenue, just south of downtown Silver Spring — provides highly-trained personnel to federal government agencies and larger defense contractors for intelligence and surveillance operations, including computer simulations and flight testing of aircraft.
Special Operations roughly doubled its workforce to 28, as of 2013. The company was ranked 1,976th this year, after making the top 500 in both 2013 and 2012.
3Links Technologies, which provides telecommunications, facilities management and other services, saw its revenue about double between 2010 and 2013, to $9.7 million. The workforce of the downtown Silver Spring business more than doubled over that time to almost 100 employees.
Burtonsville-based Infiniti HR, which provides payroll, employee benefits and other human resources outsourcing services for clients, made the list for the second straight year, seeing a 67 percent growth, to $151 million.
“We’re honored to be on this year’s Inc. 500/500 list, helping drive growth and job creation all across this country,” Infiniti HR CEO Scott Smrkovski said in a statement.
Telecommunications firm AIS Engineering, based just east of downtown Silver Spring, also made the top 5,000. AIS saw a 58 percent growth rate, to $19.4 million.
Last year, three Silver Spring firms, as well as Infiniti HR, made the list.
This year’s highest-ranked Montgomery County business was Chevy Chase-based Team Extreme Marketing International, which sells consumer products through websites. The company ranked 39th nationally with a 6,369 percent growth between 2010 and 2013, to $6.8 million.
