School began Monday for Montgomery County Public Schools, with a record enrollment of more than 154,000 students attending 202 schools.

Wilson Wims Elementary School in Clarksburg is the system’s newest school, opening this year with a projected enrollment of more than 500 students, according to the school district.

This school year’s enrollment is about 2,800 larger than in 2013-14.

Enrollment “has increased by more than 10,000 students over the past five years, and that growth is expected to continue in the future,” according to a district press release.
