Police in Montgomery County are investigating a shooting reported late on Aug. 20 in the 9300 block of Piney Branch Road in Silver Spring.

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at about 11:33 p.m. and found an adult male victim, who was taken to a local hospital and is expected to recover, said Cpl. Rebecca Innocenti, spokeswoman for the Montgomery County Police Department.

Detectives are looking for at least two males who were involved. They are investigating whether the victim and the males knew each other and whether robbery was the motive, Innocenti said.

Police did not have any additional information as of Tuesday.

Residents of the Forest Park apartment complex, at that address, reported seeing police cars in the parking lot the night of the shooting, but didn’t know any other details.
