Bowie is hosting a corn roast at the Bowie Farmers’ Market from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday.

The roast will feature free corn on the cob donated by farmers’ market vendors, said Matt Corley, the city’s special events coordinator.

Corley said market vendors also donate corn supplies like butter, paper products and foil to wrap the corn. He suggested community members interested in sampling some local corn arrive at the roast early because the cobs go fast.

“We usually don’t leave with any corn,” he said.

The Bowie Farmers’ Market takes place in the parking lot of the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts at Bowie High School, located at 15200 Annapolis Road in Bowie.
