The Bank of America branch at 10151 Colesville Road in Silver Spring was robbed Tuesday, Montgomery County police said.

At about 2:52 p.m., a man walked into the bank and presented a note and an unknown “potentially-explosive device,” police said in a news release.

He received an undisclosed amount of money and left, taking the device with him.

No one was injured.

Police said the robber was described as about 6 feet tall, with a medium build. He was wearing a black sweatshirt and an olive-green baseball cap.

Police have asked anyone with information about the robbery to call them at 240-773-5100. Anonymous tips are accepted at 866-411-8477 or mymcpnews.com/resources/crime-solvers-2.
