Libraries offer ‘bucks’ -- Gazette.Net

Children and teens up to age 17 will be able to earn financial credit to pay for fines in their library account through the Great Fines Read Off program. For every half-hour that students spend reading in the library, either to themselves or another person, they will earn a “library buck.” The credit can be used to reduce or pay off overdue fines on their accounts.

Great Fines Read Off program was introduced in 2007 by Montgomery County Public Libraries and is available again, along with the summer reading program, which runs until Aug. 31.
