Music lovers can enjoy free outdoor concerts from 6 to 8 p.m. each Thursday this summer at Veterans Park on the corner of Norfolk and Woodmont avenues in downtown Bethesda.

A summer staple since the late 1990s, the concerts, sponsored by the Bethesda Urban Partnership, run until the beginning of August.

Thursday’s concert will feature blues and classic rock by Built 4 Comfort, a cover band that plays “a bit of everything and anything that will make you move,” according to its website.

Veterans Park has tables and chairs so it is not necessary to bring seating, said Brenna O’Malley, marketing and communications manager for the Bethesda Urban Partnership.

The following concerts are scheduled for this summer:

June 26: Natty Beaux, contemporary swing.

July 3: I and I Riddim, reggae.

July 10: King Soul, Southern soul.

July 17: Speakers of the House, variety dance.

July 24: Texas Chainsaw Horns, classic R&B and soul.

July 31: Flo Anito, rock/pop.

Aug. 7: Gary and the Grove, variety rock.

Weather updates for the concerts can be found at the Bethesda Urban Partnership website, bethesda.org, or by calling 301-215 6660 until 5 p.m. the day of the concert.
