The Germantown Library is hosting a book sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the ground floor meeting room at the library. With paperbacks for 50 cents and hardbacks for a dollar, the library often sells 2,000 books and movies in a day.
“It’s busy, if you come here at 10 o’clock it’s a little bit of a wonderful mad house,” said Senior Librarian Nathan Chadwick.
The sale is sponsored by the Friends of the Library, Germantown Chapter, and offers donated used books and movies. Chadwick said the library still sells a surprising number of VHS tapes to patrons.
“In a community that’s lacking a book store, it’s a pretty good way to get books,” Chadwick said.
Donations of books and movies are always welcome at the library. Proceeds from the sale go to buying new resources for the library.
There will also be a bloodmobile outside the library on Saturday, which comes the second Saturday of every other month.
The library is at 19840 Century Blvd. in Germantown.
