Lines were out the door on Saturday and Sunday at the Germantown Soccerplex, with visitors waiting to take part in Dinosauria. The event, brought by Dinosauria Experience based in Rockville, featured an exhibit, dinosaur rides, a gem mining activity, face painting, and moon bounces. The company has taken the traveling show around the country, according to Director of Special Events for the Maryland Soccer Foundation Mihir Patel.

“The first part was an interactive museum where the dinosaurs actually moved and made sounds,” said Patel.

“They had huge dinosaurs. The woolly mammoth they brought couldn’t fit in the building so we had to leave it outside,” said Executive Director of the foundation Trish Heffelfinger.

Patel estimated that at least 3,000 people came on Saturday and over 4,500 on Sunday. With such success, Patel is looking into having the event return for Labor Day weekend.
