The city of Rockville’s cultural pride will be on display on Saturday in the city’s Twinbrook neighborhood.
The Twinbrook Multicultural Day will feature a parade for children, crafts, displays from various countries and other entertainment.
The event will be at the Twinbrook Community Recreation Center and Annex from 4 until 7 p.m.
It will feature performers from India, China, Ireland, Mexico and Romania, said Hjarman Cordero, senior neighborhood resource coordinator for the city.
Most of the performers will be dancers, but there also will be a group of Romanian gymnasts, Cordero said.
There will be samples of food from around the world.
Each year, the city holds an event for the Twinbrook neighborhood, he said.
Cordero said he hopes the event will help Twinbrook residents celebrate the diversity of their neighborhood and share their cultural experiences with one another.
The area is home to Hispanic, Asian and Eastern European residents, as well as those with other nationalities, he said.
“You’ll find a little bit of everything in Twinbrook,” he said.
